HAGEN, Robert "Bob" Alan

Robert Alan Hagen was born on December 29th 1936 to Alfred & Dorothy Helen [Schmit] Hagen in Bemidji, Minnesota. He moved to Duluth, Minnesota to pursue a military flying career.

Mr. Hagen enlisted in the USAF on March 29th 1959. He was assigned the 11th Fighter Squadron based at the Duluth International Airport. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant.

LT Hagen flew military jets, T-33's, F-86's, F-102 Delta Daggers and then F-106 Delta Darts.

He married Mary Katherine [Hubert] on July 2nd 1962 in Duluth and they started a family. Around this time LT Hagen became actively involved during the Cuban Missle Crisis.

LT Hagen was then assigned to fly F-106's at Langley AFB in Hampton, Virginia. He was honorably discharged from active service on December 1st 1965. He had risen to the rank of Captain (CAP).

After he left the service he chose to fly commericial airliners for Trans World Airlines (TWA) where he also rose to Captain. During his first couple years he also maintained an active engagement with the Air National Guard out of Maguire AFB in New Jersey flying F-105's.

Mr. Hagen died on March 23rd 1990 at 53 years of age in San Antonio, Texas. He was cremated and his ashes were spread over Texas, Connecticut and Northern Minnesota.
