NYLAND, Gilbert Fred

Gilbert Fred Nyland was born on November 24th 1894 to William & Clara Nyland in Superior, Wisconsin. The family moved to Virginia, Minnesota in 1910.

Mr. Nyland enlisted in the U.S. Army on December 14th 1917, He was assigned to the 6th Company, 3rd Army Signal Corps, Mechanics Regiment where he serviced Allied aircraft during WWI. He rose to the rank of Sergeant (SGT).

SGT Nyland was honorably discharged on June 11th 1919 from Fort Mills, New York. After the war he returned home and married Flora L. [Roloff] on July 3rd 1920 in Chicago, Illinois and they started a family.

Mr. Nyland died on February 21st 1976 in Delafield, Wisconsin at the age of 81 years old.
