ZBACNIK-Albert Rudolph

Albert Rudolph Zbacnik was born on April 28th 1925 to Frank Rudolph & Frances Veronica [Stimac] Zbacnik in Carson Lake, Minnesota.

Mr. Zbacnik entered the U.S. Marines Corps on July 23rd 1943, in Minneapolis, Minnesota during WWII. 

He served as an amphibian tractor crewman with 3rd Armored Amphibian Tractor Battalion in Peleliu, Pala Islands, and Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands. He was wounded in action in May, 1945, in the battle for Okinawa. He rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC).

PFC Zbacnik was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was honorably discharged on November 15th 1945. After the war he returned home and married Ann M. [Gambini] on October 22nd 1949.

Mr. Zbacnik died on June 30th 1995 at 70 years of age. He is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch, California.
