RENALDO, Carl William

Carl William Renaldo was born on January 12th 1924 in Falun, Wisconsin, the son of Anton William & Teckla Olivia [Gustafsdotter] Renaldo. They moved to Meadowlands, Minnesota, in 1935.

After high school Mr. Renaldo was inducted into the U.S. Naval Reserve on December 13th 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy for three years during World War II.

He served in the U.S. and aboard the U.S.S. LCI (L) 858 in the Pacific Theater. His service included Johnson Island, Eniwetok, Guam, Ulithi, Paileau Island patrol, Saipan, and Iwo Jima. He was a Diesel Engine Operator. He rose to the rank of Motor Machinist's Mate 2nd class MoMM2/c (T).

Mr. Renaldo was discharged on January 11th 1946. After the war he returned home and married Marilyn Joyce [Felknor] and they started a family.

A resident of Keystone Bluffs, Minnesota, he died on Saturday, April 5th 2008, at age 84. He is buried at Meadowlands Cemetery.
