SARTORI, Donald Frank

Donald Frank Sartori was born on November 26th 1920 to Domenic &  Angela [Tramontin] Sartori in Chisholm, Minnesota. After high school he enrolled at the University of Wisconsin.

Mr. Sartori was inducted into the U.S. Army on March 13th 1943 at Ft. Sheridan, Illinois. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

He served as a financial clerk with the 62nd Finance Disbursing Section in Normandy and Northern France. He rose to the rank of Technician First Class. (TEC5)

Mr. Sartori earned the following merits for his service:

  • Good Conduct Medal,
  • American Campaign Medal,
  • European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 2 bronze battle stars,
  • World War II Victory Medal,  -and-
  • four overseas service bars.

 

He was honorably discharged on January 1st 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. After the war he returned home. Mr. Sartori died on November 24th 1950 at only 29 years of age. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Chisholm.
