Elizabeth O'Hara

Elizabeth J. O''Hara Donahue entered the Army Nurse Corps on June 1, 1943. She was commissioned as a first lieutenant and was with the 10th Mountain Division in Camp Hale, CO., and the 167th General Hospital in England, which received up to 300 patients in a day from combat until VE Day. She returned to the continental U.S. in the fall of 1945. She served in the burn unit at Percy Jones General Hospital at Camp Custer, Mich., and was discharged on March 8, 1948. She received the European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal, American Campaign Service Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
