Ilmer J. Salo

Ilmer J. Salo was inducted into the Army on August 10, 1942 at  Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Mountain Iron, Minnesota. 

He served as a Technician Fifth Grade, utility repairman, and a military policeman with the 1879th Service Command Unit at a Prisoner Of War Camp.

He received the following: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on November 5, 1945 at Camp Livingston, Louisiana.
