Julius E. Erving was inducted into the Army on June 13, 1942. He served at the rank of private as a locomotive fireman with the Quartermaster Corps assigned to Supply Detachment, Section 1, Service Command Unit, Pacific Theater. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 26, 1945.
