Oswald R. Salmi

Oswald R. Salmi enlisted in the Regular Army on November 6, 1939 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Virginia, Minnesota.

He served as a Technician Fifth Grade in armored artillery with the Service Company of the 19th Infantry Regiment in New Guinea and the Southern Philippines.

Mr. Salmi received the following: Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and three overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged October 7, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
