Raymond M. Syrjanen enlisted in the Army on August 10, 1944. Home at entry: Embarrass, Minnesota.

He served as a Corporal and rifleman with Company C of the Seventh Infantry Regtiment of the 45th Infantry Division in Rhineland and Central Europe.

Mr. Syrjanen was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign with two bronze campaign stars, World War II Victory Medal, and two overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged December 2, 1946.
