Voitto "Bernie" B. Alander

Mr. Alander was a private first class and an infantryman and truck driver with Company G, 27th Infantry. He was from Cromwell, Minnesota. Mr. Alander entered the Army on September 11, 1944. He was a private first class and an infantryman and truck driver with Company G, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Division in the Pacific. He arrived in New Guinea and was sent by convoy to Leyte in the Philippines, where he joined the 27th Infantry and took part in taking Balete Pass. Following the surrender of Japan, he was assigned to the occupation of Japanese home islands for one year. He was discharged on November 27, 1946.
