Mr. Wesley Ranta of Mountain Iron, Minnesota was inducted into the Army Air Corps on October 26, 1943.

He was a Corporal with the 1050th Army Air Forces Base Unit in the United States.

He was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal.

He was honorably discharged on November 2, 1945 then to enlist in the Regular Air Force.

He served as a Sergeant with the 3rd Engineer Res. Squadron in the Pacific Theater and with the Army of Occupation. He also served with the Japanese Occupation Forces.

He was awarded the following: Army of Occupation Service Medal (Japan) and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal.

Mr. Ranta was honorably discharged on January 17, 1947, at Fort Lewis, Washington.
