All people contribute in some way to America's war effort, even if only by having relatives and friends go away for military service, but some give more. The ultimate sacrifice is that of those who don't return alive from war. Some local military units are due special recognition for their wartime service. Other people are due credit for the important contributions made by those who supported America's war efforts out of uniform on the home front.
