Rosette
This rosette was made for Charles Johnson by a woman, on his departure for the Civil War in 1861. It is made of binders book cloth. Bottom layer is red and white, the next layer is only white, the next layer is dark blue. In the center of the rosette is the same cloth used for the bottom layer.
