Mr. Anderson served during the Cold War.

He served in the Minnesota National Guard.

He was born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, in 1945. He graduated from Central High School in 1963. He played football, baseball and track, was All-State, and achieved All-American status in football and basketball. He attended the University of Minnesota playing football there and achieved All Big 10 status. Mr. Anderson Jr. was drafted and played for the Pittsburg Steelers and for the Vikings and in the CFL for Winnipeg.

Mr. Anderson died on March 14, 2007, in Duluth, Minnesota
