“Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Gary Plesko was mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support Operation Iraqi Freedom. Plesko, the son of Angeline Plesko of Superior, is a civil affairs sergeant and a member of the 407th Civil Affairs Battalion based in Arden Hills, Minnesota. He graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1976 and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 1992.”
