Gary T. Croot

Mr. Croot has served in the Global War on Terror.

He has served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

On June 26, 2008, he was relieved of duty as the Commanding Officer, Marine Safety Unit, Duluth. He is currently the Chief of Coast Guard Environmental Standards Division, Office of Operating and Environmental Standards in Washington, D.C.

“On June 26, 2008 Commander Michael Lebsack relieved Commander Gary Croot as Commanding Officer Marine Safety Unit Duluth. Croot was recognized for superior leadership and service during his term as CO from June 2005 to June 2008. He’s improved the Port’s Area Maritime Security Committee process, directed an investigation that led to fleetwide improvements of propulsion boiler safety, helped develop ballast water treatment regulations and implemented the Transportation Worker Identification Credential enforcement requirements for the western Lake Superior area.”
