Thomas Witzke

Mr. Witzke was deployed for his third tour of duty in Iraq on January 4, 2008, and will work in communications in Falluja for about a year.

Witzke, son of John and Linda Witzke of Duluth and a 1996 graduate of Marshall School, completed an 18 month course in modern Arabic and graduated from the Defense Language Institute in July.

As of 2008, he had been in the Marine Corps for more than 10 years and has had extensive training as an embassy security guard.  In 2001, Witzke was assigned to security for President Bush during the G-8 Conference in Genoa, Italy.
