Frank M. Sobyra

He served during peacetime, during the Persian Gulf War, and during the Global War on Terror.

He served in the U.S. Air Force. He joined the Air Force on October 1, 1986, and served for 20 years of active service.

He was a Master Sergeant.

He was stationed at the Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. During his years of service he was stationed in various locations throughout the United States as well as in Greenland.

Frank was born on September 17, 1968, in Wheaton, Illinois, the son of William, Jr., and Karen (Sebunia) Sobyra.

He graduated from Cook High School in 1986.

He died of natural causes on Friday, January 9, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at age 40.

He received many awards and citations, including one for saving the life of an elderly accident victim. Frank served his country honorably and was proud of what his country stood for.
