E-4 Alan C. Trunk enlisted in the U.S. Navy in September of 1963.

He served on the USS Intrepid (CVS 11) in Vietnam. He was on the recovery ship for Gemini III, the first United States two man space mission.

He separated from active duty in June of 1965 and then lived in Barnum, Minnesota where he was a teacher from 1965-1967.
