James D. Hill

Mr. Hill was born in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Owen J. and Lois L. Hill. He graduated from Duluth East High School in 1965.

He served during the Vietnam War and during the Persian Gulf War.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 until 1995. He was assigned to the U.S. Army Surgeons Corps, the 5501 U.S. Army Hospital, and the 88th U.S. Army Reserve Command. He was Commander of the 477th Medical Company, a U.S. Army Reserve unit in Duluth, Minnesota.

He served at Valley Forge General Army Hospital in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania; at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas; at Fort Snelling, St. Paul, Minnesota; and in Duluth, Minnesota.

His highest rank was Lieutenant Colonel.

He was decorated with three Meritorious Service medals.
