TAYLOR, Kerry Lamont

Kerry Lamont Taylor was born on April 25th 1950 to Max Lamont & Lois Ethel [Koslowski] Taylor in Hibbing, Minnesota.

Mr. Taylor entered military service with the U.S. Army on May 22nd 1969. He was assigned Company C, 12th Infantry, 4th Battalion of the 99th Infantry Brigade. His specialty is Infantry Indirect Fire Crewman. He rose to the rank of Specialist 4th Class (SP4).

Specialist Taylor was killed while serving in action on January 21st 1970 in Đồng Nai Province, South Vietnam.

He earned the following merits for his service:

  • National Defense Service Medal,
  • Army Good Conduct Medal,
  • Meritorious Unit Commendation,
  • Army Commendation Medal,
  • Vietnam Campaign Medal,
  • Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation,
  • Vietnam Service Medal, -and-
  • the Purple Heart.

 

He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. He is also honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, DC.
