A.E. Johnson entered the Army June 2, 1943, Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

He served as a Technician 5th Grade and artillery mechanic with Battery B of the 356th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Search Light Battalion in Bismarck Archipelago, New Guinea, and Luzon Island,

Mr. Johnson was awarded the: Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars and bronze arrowhead, World War II Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars and four overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged January 7, 1946, Camp McCoy, Wis.
