Albert F. Kuitunen

Albert F. Kuitunen of Gilbert, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on July 25, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He was a Staff Sergeant and squad leader with the 95th Infantry Division, 377th Infantry Regiment 3rd Battalion Headquarters Company in Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe.

Mr.  Kuitunen received the Good Conduct Medal and European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with three bronze battle stars.

He was honorably discharged October 23, 1945 at Fort Sill, Okla.

Please note that while his discharge papers list 2nd Battalion, 324th Regiment, he never served with them. According to the family, this could be the result of the war ending as he was scheduled to be sent to Japan prior to the war’s end.
