MARANA, Albert John

Albert John Marana was born on December 15th 1914 to Tony & Rose [Romeo] Marana in Hibbing, Minnesota.

Mr. Marana entered the U.S. Army on August 25th 1943 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing.

He served as a truck driver during WWII and rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC). 

PFC Marana earned the following merits for his service:

  • Good Conduct Medal,
  • American Campaign Medal,  -and-
  • World War II Victory Medal.

 

He was honorably discharged December 3rd 1945, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. After the war he returned home and married Katherine [Julance] and they started a family.

Mr. Marana died on March 4th 1981 at the age of 66 years. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, Minnesota.
