Albert W. Lipinski of Duluth was inducted into the Army on December 8, 1939.

He was a sergeant, an artillery mechanic and motor noncommissioned officer with Battery C in the 125th Field Artillery Battalion, 34th Infantry Division in Tunisia, North Africa; and, Anzio, Naples-Foggia, Rome Arno, Italy. He was wounded in action on March 24, 1944 in Italy.

Mr. Lipinski received the: Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, American Defense Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and six overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged in May, 1945 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
