GOODSKY, Alfred

Alfred Goodsky was born on November 1st 1924 to William Bill (Ah in Da Cumig Ish Kung) & Irene (Mad Ji Ka Ma Goki) Goodsky in Orr, Minnesota. He was a tribal member of the Nett Lake Ojibwe (Chippewa) tribe.

Mr. Goodsky was inducted into the U.S. Naval Reserve on June 9th 1943.

He served as a Ship's Cook 3rd Class (SC3/c) on the USS LST 127, a Landing Ship Tank. The ship earned five battle stars for its World War II service.

Cook Goodsky was awarded six battle stars on his Asiatic-Pacific ribbon for his service during WWII. He was honorably discharged December 9th 1945 at Minneapolis, Minnesota.

After the war he returned home but then re-enlisted again in May 24th 1946. He served aboard the General H W Butner (AP-113), a troop ship, until April 15th 1949.

On July 2nd 1962 he married Luzenia Clara [Day] 

Mr. Goodky died on November 24th 1983 at 59 years of age in Virginia, Minnesota..
