VESEL, Anne Frances

Anne Frances Vesel was born on February 26th 1909 to Mathias & Kristiana [Staric] Vesel in Breitung, Minnesota.

Ms. Vesel enlisted in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) on August 31st 1943. Home at entry: Soudan, Minnesota.

Ms. Vesel served as a Technician Third Grade and medical non-commissioned officer (NCO) during WWII.

TEC3 Vesel was awarded the following:

  • Meritorious Unit Commendation,
  • Good Conduct Medal,
  • Women's Army Corps Service Medal,
  • American Campaign Medal,  -and-
  • World War II Victory Medal.

 

She was honorably discharged on February 6th 1946. She then re-enlisted on November 15th 1950 and served during the Korean Conflict to October 28th 1952.

Ms. Vesel died May 10th 1984 in Virginia, Minnesota at 75 years of age. She is buried at Lake View Cemetery in Tower, Minnesota.
