VIDMAR, Anthony P.

Anthony P. Vidmar was born on May 21st 1920 to Mike E. & Frances [Mahar] Vidmar in Orr, Minnesota.

He was inducted into the Army on March 29th 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Orr, Minnesota.

Mr. Vidmar served as a Corporal with the Antitank Company of the 417th Infantry Regiment in Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe.

He was awarded the following:

  • Good Conduct Medal,
  • American Campaign Medal,
  • European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars,
  • World War II Victory Medal, -and-
  • two overseas service bars.

 

CPL Vidmar was honorably discharged on December 18th 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.

He died on January 15th 1982 at the age of 61 years old. He is buried at Leiding Cemetery in Orr, Minnesota.
