Arne Mattson

Arne E. Mattson of Duluth, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on May 9, 1944.

He was a Private First Class and an anti-tank crewman with the Anti-Tank Company of the 3820th Infantry Regiment in the southern Philippines and the Ryukyu Islands.

He was wounded in action on April 4, 1945 on Okinawa.

Mr. Mattson received the: Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal with two bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Medal, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.

He was discharged in February 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
