Arne W. Isaacson of Eveleth, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on May 30, 1942. He was a Private First Class in Battery C, Sep. Coast Artillery Battalion, Rome-Arno, Italy; Southern France, Rhineland, Central Europe campaigns. He was wounded in action in France in November, 1944. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with 4 bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and 6 overseas service bars. He was discharged October 23, 1945.
