Arthur C. Hedstrom

Arthur C. Hedstrom served during World War II in the U.S. Army beginning in January 1942.

He went to Fort Snelling for training and shortly after was assigned to Reykjavik, Iceland working with the Signal Corps. He was then sent back to the U.S. to work with the Army Security Agency at Arlington Hall, in Washington, D.C.

He received a commendation from W. Preston Corderman, Brigadier General, Commanding Officer of the Headquarters Army Security Agency. His rank was 1st Lieutenant, Army Security Agency.

He was honorably discharged from service in late 1946.

Mr. Hedstrom was born in Grand Marais, Minnesota in 1919, the son of Andrew and Alma Hedstrom. He graduated from high school in 1937.
