Arthur Edwin Hakala enlisted in the Marine Corps on June 19, 1943 at Minneapolis, Minn.
He served as a Sergeant and aircraft engine mechanic in the Marshall Islands and the Pacific. He attended Aviation Machinist Mate school in Norman, Okla.
Mr. Hakala was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal.
He was honorably discharged Feb. 22, 1946 at Great Lakes, Ill.
