Arthur William DeRosier

Mr. DeRosier entered the Army in July 1943, Fort Snalling, Minn.

Served as a Techivcian Thurd Grade and signal depot worker with the 583rd Signal Depot Company. 

Assigned to the advanced section setting up signal depots at the front lines in France, Luxembourg and Germany.

"When front lines moved, we moved also, setting up new signal depots."

Awarded:

Presidential Unit Citation,

European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four broze stars.

Separated from service January 1946.

Arthur William DeRosier served for three years during and after World War II in the European Theater, 1943-46.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Signal Corps, serving in England, France, Germany, and Luxembourg.

He was a Technician 3rd Grade and a Signal Depot Worker with the 583rd Signal Depot Company, Advanced Section. He set up signal depots at the front line in France, Luxembourg, and Germany. "When the front lines moved, we moved also, setting up new signal depots," he said.

He was born on January 22, 1925, in Duluth, Minnesota. He was the son of Louis and Eda Johnson DeRosier.

He graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1943. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in July 1943.

He died at age 83 in Duluth, Minnesota, on April 10, 2008.

He was decorated with the:

Presidential Unit Citation
European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with four bronze battle stars.
