Arvid Erickson was inducted into the Army March 31, 1942, Fort Snelling, Minn. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minn.

He served as a Technician 4th Grade with Company C of the 813th Tank Battalion in Northern France, Normandy, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe.

Mr. Erickson was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one silver battle star (for five bronze stars), World War II Victory Medal and three overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged November 30, 1945, Camp McCoy, Wis.
