Ben W. Sklasz

Ben W. Sklasz enlisted in the Regular Army on August 28, 1940, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

He served as a Sergeant and squad leader with Company D of the 417th Infantry Regiment in Rhineland. He was wounded in action on March 11, 1945.

He received the following: Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, American Defense Service Medal with bronze service star, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, World War II Victory Medal, and three overseas service bars.

Mr. Sklasz was honorably discharged on September 6, 1945, at McCaw Army General Hospital, Walla Walla, Washington.
