Bernard E. Lee served in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He served in the U.S. Navy from July 1, 1944, until February 18, 1946.

Mr. Lee served aboard the USS LST-960 and the USS LST-572, tank landing ships. His rank was Ship’s Cook 3rd Class. He had the honor of serving war correspondent Ernie Pyle a hot meal.

Mr. Lee was awarded one Bronze Battle Star (Okinawa) and WWII Victory Medal.

He was born on 4/25/1924 to Albert and Clara Lee in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
