Bernard L. Kishel entered the Army on June 28, 1940.

He was a Master Sergeant and served as a food service technician with the Headquarters Company, 10th Infantry Division in the Pacific Theater.

He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and mess officer in December of 1942.

Mr. Kishel was awarded the: Good Conduct Medal with one loop, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, American Defense Service Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged as a 1st lieutenant on March 17, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
