Carl Hans Ralston of Duluth, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on May 18, 1942.

He was a Private First Class and rifleman with the 85th Infantry Division in the European Theater at Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno, Italy.

He was wounded in action on May 17, 1944.

Mr. Ralston was awarded the: Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with 2 bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and 2 overseas service bars.

He was discharged on Oct. 21, 1945.
