Carl R. Swanson

Carl R. Swanson entered the Army Air Corps on November 10,1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.  Home at entry: Virginia, Minnesota.

He served as a Corporal and operations clerk in Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and Po Valley, Italy; Northern France, Southern France, Rhineland, Air Combat Balkans, and Air Offensive Europe.

Mr. Swanson was awarded the following: Presidential Unit Citation, European-African- Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with eight bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and one overseas service bar.

He was honorably discharged September 23, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
