Clifford W. Kangas

Clifford W. Kangas of Chisholm, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on August 24, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He was a Private First Class and a cannoneer with the Anti-Tank Company, 395th Infantry Regiment in Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and the Ardennes in Central Europe.

Mr. Kangas was awarded the: Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with seven bronze battle stars and bronze arrowhead, World War II Victory Medal, and five overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on October 7, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
