DeWayne H. Olson

DeWayne H. Olson entered the Army on June 26, 1943.

He was a Private First Class and an ambulance and truck driver in northern France, the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was also attached to a forestry battalion in charge of cutting lumber for bridges and river crossings from Omaha Beach to Germany.

He says: "It was interesting but not dangerous. We had 13 lumber companies all over France and Belgium and later in Germany."

He was separated on Feb. 8, 1946.
