Donald Glorious was born on May 8th 1922 to Thomas P. & Ethel Leah [Tucker] Glorious in Arthur, Illinois The family moved to Crane Lake, Minnesota when he was young,

Mr. Glorious enlisted in the Army Air Corps November 5th 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.

He was aboard the USS Mt. Vernon enroute to the Southern Philippines and Luzon. We was an armorer in the 307th Airdrome Squadron during World War II. He rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC).

PFC Glorious earned the following awards: 

  • Army Good Conduct Medal,
  • Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal,
  • American Campaign Medal,
  • Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze star,
  • World War II Victory Medal and three overseas service bars.

 

He was honorably discharged December 30th 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.

He died January 3rd 1990 in Cook, Minnesota at the age of 67 years. He was buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Buyck, Minnesota.
