Donald R. Anderson

Mr. Anderson entered the Army on February 10, 1941, in Duluth, Minnesota. Home at entry: Duluth, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and light truck driver with 125th Field Artillery Battalion, Battery C, 34th Division in Tunisia, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Ardennes, and Po Valley.  Stationed at Camp Clayborne, Louisiana, and shipped overseas in 1942.  Participated in the North African Campaign at Algeria, Casserine Pass and Tunisia.  Moved into Italy at Salerno and fought in the entire Italian Campaign, ending with the liberation of Milan in 1945.

He was awarded with the following: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, six overseas service bars, and four discharge emblems.
