POLLA, Donald Russell

Donald Russell Polla was born on May 2nd 1926 to Wayne E. & Lydia Matila [Matsala] in Duluth, Minnesota.

Mr. Polla entered the U.S. Army on July 17th 1944 during WWII.

He was assigned Troop B, 92nd Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, serving in France, Luxembourg, Belgium and Germany. He rose to the rank of Technician 5th Grade (TEC5).

He was honorably discharged from the service on July 3rd 1946.

After the war, he returned home and married Florence Nelma [Rahko] on June 19th 1948 and they started a family.

Mr. Polla died on September 11th 2005 at the age of 79. He is buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Duluth.
