DAY, Earl Francis

Earl Francis Day was born on January 30th 1920 to 'O Bim Way Way Ge Shig' John & Effie [Goodsky] Day in Orr, Minnesota.

Mr. Day of Nett Lake, Minnesota was inducted into the U.S. Army on January 15th 1944 during WWII.

He was with Company E, 142nd Infantry Regiment in the Rhineland and Central Europe. He rose to the rank of a Private First Class (PFC).

PFC Day earned the following merits for his service:

  • Good Conduct Medal,
  • European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal,  -and- 
  • two overseas service bars.

 

He was honorably discharged on December 21st 1945. After the war he returned home and married Luzenia Clara [Fields] and they started a family.

Mr. Day died on December 31st 1956 at only 36 years of age.
