BRADACH. Edward George

Edward George Bradach was born on October 7th 1908 to John & Mary [Verant] Bradach in Hibbing, Minnesota. He grew up in neighoring Chisholm.

Mr. Bradach was inducted into the Army on March 31st 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. He served as a motor transportation non-commissioned officer with Company F of the 23rd Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. He was wounded in action on March 10th 1945. He rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC).

PFC Bradach earned the following merits while serving:

  • Purple Heart,
  • Distinguished Unit Insignia,
  • Bronze Arrowhead,
  • Good Conduct Medal,
  • European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal,  -and-
  • three overseas service bars.

 

He was honorably discharged on October 25th 1945. After the war he returned home and married Mary K. [Dunda] on May 7th 1947.

Mr. Bradach died on May 29th 1992 at 71 years of age. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Chisholm.
