SWANSON, Edward John

Edward John Swanson was born on March 16th 1922 to Arthur Herbert & Florence [Hotinger] Swanson.

Mr. Swanson enlisted in the Naval Reserve on November 17th 1942. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

He served as a Boilermaker Second Class (B2c) aboard the USS Warrington and at other Naval stations.

B2c Swanson was awarded the following:

  • Good Conduct Medal,
  • Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, -and-
  • World War II Victory Medal.

 

He was honorably discharged on January 16th 1946, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Mr. Swanson died on May 20th 1986 at the age of 64 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was buried at Cavalry Cemetery in Chisholm,.
