URICK, Edward Philip

Edward Philip Urick was born April 30th 1919 to Anton & Ursala Urick in Biwabik, Minnesota.

Mr. Urick enlisted in the Naval Reserve on September 22nd 1942, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Mr. Urick served as a Radioman First Class aboard the USS Brainie (DD-630), USS Cusabo, and USS Askari (ARL 30) in the Pacific Theater.

He was awarded the following medals:

  • American Campaign Medal,
  • Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with four bronze battle stars,
  • World War II Victory Medal, - and -
  • Philippine Liberation Medal.

 

Mr. Unick was honorably discharged on October 10th 1945, at Great Lakes, Illinois. After the war he returned home and married Barbara [Kolak] on July 7th 1964.

He died on September 10th 1984 at the age of 65. He is buried at Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik, Minnesota.
