Edwin S. Okland was inducted into the Army on June 23, 1944.

He was a Private First Class with Service Company, 381st Infantry Regiment in the Philippines and Ryukyu Islands.

Mr. Okland received the: Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal with two bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Meda and World War II Victory Medal.

He was discharged on Nov. 8, 1945.

He re-enlisted on Nov. 9 and was a Technician 5th Grade and a truck driver with Company A, 12th Armored Infantry Battalion, serving in the Continental United States.

He was discharged on Nov. 25, 1946.
